Mateo Vidal

I’ve been at nBlock since the early days, building software for B2B clients across industry, retail, and distribution. My work spans software architecture, product design, and full-stack engineering, as well as LLM systems, voice AI agents, and the data and ML pipelines underneath. I work from the first client conversation all the way through to production.

Alongside all of this, I’m studying electrical engineering, focused on signal processing for AI and ML. I’m also a teaching assistant in robotics, a role that reflects my interest in robotics and applying software to physical systems. I’m interested in machine learning and looking for opportunities to take my first steps in research.

I also co-founded build 101, the biggest hackathon in Uruguay, where teams go from zero to product in 36 hours — the first edition runs in October 2026.

Sailing has been the other half of my life. I’ve represented Uruguay in continental and world championships in the Olympic ILCA class, coached, and now serve as president of ILCA Uruguay. That experience led me to found Cabo, a platform that runs sailing championships end to end — from entry and live results to protests.
