Mateo Vidal

I’ve been at nBlock since the early days, building software and machine learning for B2B clients across industry, retail, and distribution — LLM systems, voice AI agents, and the data and ML pipelines underneath. It’s not only ML: software architecture and design are a big part of the job too, and I work across the whole stack, from the first client conversation to production.

On my own I founded Cabo, which runs sailing championships end to end — entry, live results, protests — and we’re now looking for our first design-partner clubs. I also co-founded UruHack, building what we want to be the largest hackathon in the country, launching August 2026.

Alongside all of this, I’m studying electrical engineering, focused on signal processing for AI. I’m curious about applied AI — especially robotics and AI in physical systems — and actively looking for opportunities to take on research of my own.

Sailing has been the other half of my life. I’ve had the privilege of representing Uruguay in continental and world championships in the Olympic ILCA class, I’ve coached, and I’m now president of ILCA Uruguay — the largest Olympic sailing class association in the country.
